After the one month check up we then went back for the two month checkup, this one included shots!! :( He has continued to grow and now weighs 9 pounds, 10 ounces! He is 22 inches long and his head is now in the 76 percentile. Hudson was definetly not a fan of shots and cried for a good 5 minutes, broke my heart, then after getting home he ran a low grade fever for two days and cried when you touched his legs (again heart breaking).
Over the first month, he changed so much! When we first came home, Hudson had jaundice so we spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the Bilirubin blanket, but by Sundays doctors appointment, his levels were better and he was able to stop using the light!! Woo Hoo!
He is becoming more alert and staying awake for longer periods. He has gotten pretty good about sleeping for 3 hour spurts and the roughest night we have had is the first night home. During the day, we spend a lot of time just rocking, singing, playing on his mat and doing tummy time. So far he doesn't mind tummy time and is getting to where he can hold up his head long enough for him to turn it to the other side, of coarse with some coaching and rattles to get his interest!! I have loved watching him change and grow. As of now he still looks a lot like Mark, although I did find an old picture of me were we favor quite a bit!! Here is the picture of me...
Here is Hudson. Can you see it?!?
During the first month, we did a lot of just hanging out at home, snuggling, and taking pictures together. During the day it was pretty great, as I was able to just bond with Hudson and have mommy/Hudson time! Mark had to go back to work when we got home from the hostipal :( but he rushes home after work to spend time wth Hudson. I know he misses out during the day so he loves to feed Hudson at his 6pm, and 9pm feedings. Mark truly is amazing with Hudson and seeing them together makes my heart happy!!
Another favorite picture!!
After the first month I had to go back to work. I really didn't realize how much if an adjustment this was going to be! I usually FaceTime whoever has Hudson atleast once a day to see that sweet face and call in just to say hi and see how he is doing when I get a chance. I have been back at work for 3 weeks now and it is slowly getting easier but I love when I get home to spend time with him!!
Now that Hudson is two months he smiles all the time, and has this adorable little laugh that I love. We can definetly see his little personality coming out!!
